Do you expect them to just ‘create jobs’ out of the goodness of their hearts, when there is little to no demand to do so? Certainly not to create nearly 900,000 of them? There is no incentive for them to do so, because they are incentivized to do precisely the opposite. Framing this like “they COULD create jobs, but they just don’t want to,” while accurate, misses the point.
It’s a systemic problem of capitalism. Don’t get me wrong, I support “Move Your Money,” but more people (inside and outside this movement) need to understand that ‘crony capitalism’ is just the logical conclusion of capitalism itself. Feel free to use your ability to ‘choose’ where to place your money, but unless we address the systemic problems of capitalism, it’s no wonder why things have ended up this way.
